This hitch takes the stress out of backing up and maneuvering in tight spots. Its automatic slider gives you 14" of fore/aft travel whenever you turn, creating the clearance you need between cab and trailer without leaving the driver’s seat. A built-in rack-and-pinion gear system moves the head smoothly toward the tailgate during sharp turns and back toward the cab as you straighten out. No jerking, no binding—just controlled motion that makes tight turns easy.

When the jaw closes, it wraps completely around the king pin for 360-degree contact. That solid connection, reinforced by a 3/4" thick locking bar, keeps things quiet and secure mile after mile. The full-wrap design cuts down on rattle and chucking compared to slide-bar hitches, giving you a smoother, more stable tow that feels locked in from start to finish.

Every bump and dip is cushioned by a double-pivot hitch head that moves both front to back and side to side. Three polyurethane dampeners absorb shock and reduce towing noise so the trailer tracks behind with less jarring feedback. It also makes coupling easier—the head tilts automatically to meet your pin box at the right angle as you back in.
Installation is quick since the base drops straight into the four receiver pucks of your factory underbed rails. Just lock the handles into place with the included safety pins and you’re ready to tow. When it’s time to clear your truck bed, pull the pins, unlock the handles, and lift out the hitch. The design separates into manageable sections—the head, base, and side plates—so you can remove or reinstall it without heavy lifting equipment.
This hitch is rated for a gross towing weight of 18,000 lbs with a 4,500 lb vertical load limit. Heavy-gauge steel construction and a rust-resistant black powder coat finish give it the toughness to handle big fifth wheels trip after trip while keeping wear at bay. Three height settings—16-7/8", 18-3/8", and 19-3/8"—let you dial in a level towing setup for confident handling on the road.

This hitch is very well made. Its very heavy and will require some kind of lift to get into the back of the truck. I used a foldable engine hoist. The puck system works well as long as the pucks the truck manufacturer installs are cast correctly. One of the RAM pucks had some slag or casting imperfections that had to be removed for the hitch to go into the puck. Once that was cleaned up the hitch installed very easily. Another thing is this hitch has no rattles when I am not pulling a trailer.Very impressive to other 5th wheel hitches I have used. The hitch works as intended as I do not have any issues with clearance in a full 90 degree turn. When turning at a 90 on a grade or large angle which sometimes causes clearance issues this hitch I have not had any issues.
Working perfectly. Delivered via LTL, the carrier called in advance to schedule delivery to our home. I requested a lift gate at delivery. Driver picked up the (1) skid (approx. 500 lbs.) with pallet jack, moved it to the lift gate. I backed the pickup truck receiving the hitch to the back of the carrier truck and put down the tailgate. Driver lowered the lift gate to the same level as the tailgate of the pickup truck and moved the pallet from the lift gate to the back of the pickup using the pallet jack. All done in the street in front of our house. No problem!
I assembled the hitch in the rear of the truck by myself. Everything lined up perfectly with the "puck" system. Install took a few hours since I was on my own.
First hookup with 5th wheel was a little problematic. Hitch would not engage when the king pin hit the back of the hitch. Being new to a 5th wheel hitch, I thought I was doing something wrong. I got a neighbor who had years of experience with 5th wheels to take a look - we still were having problems getting the new hitch to engage. As it turned out, the king pin on the camper had a little corrosion, which we cleaned off and added a little grease. We added a touch of grease to the new hitch at the point of contact with the king pin. Hooked up on the next try and every other try (probably a dozen or more) since then.
Did some practicing on sharp turns and the automatic slide works perfectly! Full clearance between cab of truck and camper in all the turns we attempted. I did a lot of research and stressed a good deal over this purchase - so excited it worked out. Knowing what I know now, I'd do it again!
Worked out great. I used the hitch for my camper right after I installed it. However, I did break one of the bolts when installing it, which is OK. I just switched to grade 8 bolts which is better anyways. I love the fact that Demco hitch unlocks when you pull the lever regardless of weight on it. Compared to my previous Mopar hitch you had to get at the right weight pressure to unlock it.
Seems to be built very well, and installation was fairly easy considering the size and weight. Won’t know how it travels until I get the RV in the Spring….we shall see! In my particular case, I had to use spacer washers between one of the brackets and the hitch so it wouldn’t jam in the truck mounts but no big deal.
I’ve also figured out a way to “store” the hitch for the winter.
Dropped right in as intended.
Awesome service! My new fifth wheel hitch arrived on-time and in perfect condition.
Amy at eTrailer was great to work with. she helped me with hitch selection and followed up with questions about delivery. And when the delivery carrier damaged one of the boxes and lost some of the hardware, Amy sent a replacement ASAP.
The only problem was it. It did not line up with puck mount on the width I had to loosen side mounting to drop into place. It have been about 1/2 in narrower to fit properly. I do not plan on taking it out or it would have to have had replacements modified side mountings. It does not pay to return because of time.
Works great with my twenty twenty ram six and a half foot bed.Pick up no more worries about crunching my cab

Crushing the cab is definitely not on the bucket list. What kind of camper are you towing?
This hitch is awesome ,I'm able to make turns with no worries of my 5th wheel hitting my truck .
Hitch is built very well and would highly recommend it. Only negative I seen was the powder coat chipped off a in a couple areas.
It’s heavy , had to use a hydraulic hoist to get the base in . Once in it was easy to lock down . Make sure you have a lift or a strong partner and a good back .
Well the Demco 5th wheel hitch is great! Great product, well built, great value! but, the delivery was terrible. I ordered the hitch on 8/10 and it didn't ship until 8/18! I was promised a delivery date of 8/17, but no one at e-trailer could find the hitch and did not get any answers from the shipping company. After many phone calls, they finally located the hitch with the shipping company, Estes, and the hitch was delivered on 8/22. I would use e-trailer again, but they need better control over the shipping.
Installation was simple and straight forward into my Ram truck with the bed factory prep for the puck system. The unit was shipped the day I ordered it and delivery was only a few days. The unit is quite heavy so best to have two people available for the installation. It functioned perfectly the first time I used it!

The fifth wheel has worked as promised for the year I have had it. No problems at all.

After one year the hitch has worked flawlessly. Installation into my RAM 2500 bed with the puck system was very easy.
Haven’t towed with it yet (tomorrow I hope.) Installation was straight forward and while heavy, I’m 64 and my son had it on the 3500 bed and installed in the pucks in 10 minutes. Cumbersome but manageable.

I reached out to to Demco who advised that they have run into an one eighth variance here and there. Also they gave a tip of loosening the pucks under the bed, fit the hitch in, and then tighten up the pucks under the bed.
